Based in Accra-Ghana, Gaddiel Amoah is a bassist/composer who has performed and recorded with a wide variety of artists such as Peter White, Tom Braxton, Thomas Dobler, Bruce Harris, Godwin Louis, Jacques Lesure, Ettiene Charles,Ofie kudjo,Mihi Matshingana, Jackie Ribas, Constant Boty, Tag Weekes, Eric Donaldson, Sekou Kouyate, Makadem,and acclaimed Ghanaian artist such as Akablay, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Atongo, Zimba, Steve Bedi, Kwame Yeboah, KOG, Pat Thomas, Smart Nkansah, Stevo Atambire, Paa Kow, Burning Stone, Rex Omar, Paapa Yankson, Jewel Ackah, Tagoe Sisters, Yaw Sarpong, Naace, Ohemaa Mercy, Joe Mettle, Calvis Hammond, Sonnie Badu, Joyful way Inc.,Ceccy Twum, Diana Hamilton, Samini, Stoneboy, Sarkodie, Kofi Kinata, Kk Fosu, Okyeame Kwame and among others.
Originally born in the early 90’s in Takoradi and raised in Madina(Accra). As the youngest of five children, his career began as a teenager playing music(drums)in a school band. His introduction to playing the bass guitar and music as a whole was influenced by his big brother (Carl Amoah )who motivated and taught him to sharpen his skills.
In 2011 after high school, he joined the Afro Harmony Band as his first official band then the resident band for African Regent Hotel in Accra. However, he was jamming with his brother and some friends in churches, parties, clubs and other events as a session bassist .He later auditioned for a bass position at Miracle Wave Band on recommendation and gained employment, credit to his unique and versatile style of play.
Currently, Gadd holds the bass chair for West Coast Ebusua, a band formed by his brother and himself with some few other musician friends. Also, he grasps the low ends with the Ghana Jazz Collective a quartet with Maestros Bernard Ayisa, Frank Kissi and Victor Dey Jnr and also serves as a facilitator for the Accra Jazz Academy(AJA) whose aim is to help promote jazz and good music in Ghana.
Over the years, he has toured Europe, Asia and African countries including Ivory Coast, Benin, Togo, Nigeria, Uganda, South Africa and among others.
Day in day out, he is constantly experimenting with sounds and effects and enjoys composing music in all different genres. ”Good thing, I hang out with people that feel the same way” as he always say “Oh Yes to live my dream playing good music and recording great records is my heartbeat and looking forward to hit the studio to record my solo album soon”.
